Spring Fling

It's finally spring, and that means bike season. The motorcycle for the husband, and the bicycle for me. I've been able to take three bike rides already along the Ottawa River but he won't be able to access his until later on in the month. His may have more power but mine doesn't have to be stored off site in the winter, doesn't need an e-test and it doesn't need insurance or license plates.
Took my first ride on Monday - only attempted 3 km as there was still a bit of snow on the trail and I was pretty wet by the time I had finished the first km. Biked to the War Museum and back yesterday (~7 km) and although there was still a bit of snow, the weather was beautiful and I only ended up with a partially wet backside. There's still about 5 feet of ice along the river, but that hasn't stopped the ducks or Canada geese from congregating along the path. I'll really miss the river and the parkway once we move, but I'm sure biking in amongst the power lines at the back of our property, will be just as exciting!
