Alive in Aswan
It's been a couple of days since I've had access to email and as much I would love to sit here for a couple of hours and fill everyone in on all the details, it will have to wait until we get back to Cairo tomorrow. We leave on the 6 pm train tonight from Aswan and have a 13 hour journey to Cairo where the Egypt part of trip will conclude.
The past couple of days have included a severe case of "mummy's tummy" for me, but also some great memories; camel and donkey rides, lots of amazing temples, sailing down the Nile, bargaining in the market places, sound and light shows, an Egyptian dress up party and lots of new friends. We're getting better at brushing off the taxi and carriage drivers and can even joke with the people who keep asking us where we're from. Although if I hear "lady, lady, good price for you, hassle free shop" one more time I think I may have to strangle someone. (probably with the scarf I got on sale!) We have two free days in Cairo before we head to the Sinai region so that should give me lots of time to collect my thoughts and post all the details of our Nile cruise. J saw a t-shirt today that sums up Egypt quite nicely and should be handed to each tourist as they enter the country : "Only came to see the pyramids. Leave me alone!"
