10 Days and Counting ...

It's been a while since I've updated this blog and it's not due to lack of Patterson adventures, but rather, time. However, in 10 days we will finally leave on our Middle East adventure and we hope to update our blog from across the world.

About two months ago we decided to rebook our Egypt trip (attempt #3) and if all goes well, we will be leaving on September 12th and returning on October 3rd. Not only are we visiting Egypt but we've also managed to squeeze in a trip to Jordan and the Sinai region as well. We booked our tour, Egypt & Jordan Caravan, through Imaginative Traveller, with a little help from Travel Cuts. It's more of an adventure style tour than the one we had hoped to take last year, but we were able to fit in more activities so we decided that a little discomfort would be worth it!

We've been busy planning, packing and asking questions for the last two months and it's hard to believe that we leave next week. With the unrest in the Middle East we've had to assure our parents that travel is safe and that we do have everything in order in cause anything should happen. We assured J's mom that we did have a will (in the freezer in a ziplock baggie) in case anything does happen and yes, they do have internet cafes over there. My dad wanted to know how much we were worth, should we get kidnapped, but we haven't agreed on a price yet. Any suggestions? Oh and for the record, should anything happen to us and our digital SLR survives the trip and makes it home without us, Dad has first dibs on it. ;-)
